SIMS 4 EA launcher sucks, here's how to bypass it.

Let’s be real, EA Sucks, and it sucks hard. but despite that, they’ve made a few good franchises, like The Sims. As a former architecture student, I’m convinced half of us chose this career because The Sims tricked us into building hideous houses and thinking they were architectural masterpieces. But I digress.

How to Play The Sims 4 on Steam Without the EA Launcher

  1. Download the Required Files

Password is: anadius

  1. Go to the game properties on steam
  1. Click "Browse" to proceed to the game directory
  1. Replace Game Files

Now that you're in the Sims 4 directory, navigate to the Game/Bin folder.

  • Extract the ZIP’s contents here, replacing existing files when prompted.

You can now run the game via TS4_x64.exe (no launcher needed!).

However, you still want to open the game via steam right?

Once again, open the properties.

  • Under Launch Options, paste one of the following commands:

Windows:

"D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4_x64.exe" -alwaysoffline %command%

(Replace the directory path with your own!)

Linux:

WINEPREFIX="/mnt/yourdrive/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/1222670/pfx" wine "/mnt/yourdrive/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/The Sims 4/Game/Bin/TS4_x64.exe" -alwaysoffline %command%

Bonus: Free DLCs and keeping your game updated.

Paying for Sims 4 DLCs? Please, don't. Use the Sims 4 Updater to auto-install and unlock it all for free.

PS: I recommend renaming your sims 4 folder so steam doesn't update it in the future.
